In this 6-week class, you will learn the skills and techniques necessary to throw on the wheel. The course is designed for those with little or no clay experience and is limited to 8 students, so you will receive plenty of personalized instruction.
You will learn about the different stages that clay goes through on its way to becoming a final glazed piece, all about tools and techniques for throwing a pot, and how to trim and glaze your final pieces. At the end of the 6-week class, you will have several finished pots, and the skills to make a piece from start to finish.
We’ll meet on Thursday evenings for six consecutive weeks beginning January 8th and ending February 12th.
Class fee includes: instruction, one (25lb) bag of clay, open studio access for practice (7 days/week, 9am-9:30pm), and use of all tools, equipment, glaze, and firings. Anticipated projects include cylinders, mugs, bowls, and vases.
