NOTE: THIS CLASS IS CONDENSED TO FIVE WEEKS, SO THAT IS CULMINATES BEFORE THE DESCENT INTO THE HOLIDAY SEASON.
In this 5-week class, you will learn the foundational skills and techniques necessary to throw on the wheel. The course is designed for those with little, no, or minimal clay experience and is limited to 5 students, so you will receive plenty of personalized instruction.
You will learn about the different stages that clay goes through on its way to becoming a final glazed piece, all about tools and techniques for throwing a pot, and how to trim and glaze your final pieces.
We’ll meet Monday mornings for five consecutive weeks, beginning October 20th and ending November 17th.
Class fee includes: instruction, one (25lb) bag of clay, open studio access for practice (7 days/week, 9am-9:30pm), and use of all tools, equipment, glaze, and firings. Anticipated projects include cylinders, cups, and bowls—the emphasis will be on cylinders and mugs as the 5 weeks will fly by.
