INTRODUCTION TO THE WHEEL (10 WEEK COURSE!) | THURSDAYS, 6-8:30PM | 2/26-4/30 | W/ OREN JAFFE & KELSEY OCHS

$590.00

In this ten week class, you will learn the skills and techniques necessary to throw on the wheel. The course is designed for those with minimal clay experience who have never thrown before and are ready to learn, those who need a refresher, and those who want to continue to build on a previous class. It is limited to 8 students, so you will receive ample personalized instruction.

You will learn about the different stages that clay goes through on its way to becoming a final glazed piece, all about tools and techniques for throwing a pot, and how to trim and glaze your final pieces. At the end of the ten week class, you will have several finished pots, and the skills to make a piece from start to finish. Kelsey will teach the first and the fifth classes, and Oren will teach the others, so you will get two teachers!

We’ll meet on Thursday evenings for ten consecutive weeks beginning February 26th and ending April 30th.

Class fee includes: one shelf (16” deep x 16” high x 36” wide), instruction, 30lbs of clay, open studio access for practice (7 days/week, 9am-9:30pm), and use of all tools, equipment, glaze, and firings. Anticipated projects include cylinders, planters, cups, and bowls.

Note: we recognize this is a higher price point than our other offerings. If spending this amount all at once presents budgeting challenges, please reach out and we can work out a payment plan. We strive to remain accessible to all, while keeping our doors open and our instructors well compensated for their expertise and experience!
