Intermediate/Advanced Wheel | Mondays 6-8:30pm 10/26-12/7 | w/ Chris Alveshere
Wheel experience is recommended for this class, preferably in the last 3 years
In this 6-week class, you’ll refine your wheel skills and expand your clay knowledge. This course is designed for those who have recently worked with clay either with Throw or at another ceramics studio.
You will learn how to throw bigger and taller, and begin learning about how to shape and create more complex forms. Topics covered may include advanced trimming techniques, surface texture, handles and spouts, and much more.
At the end of the 6-week class, you will have advanced your throwing ability, increased your making speed, and refined your forms.
We’ll meet Monday evenings for six weeks, starting October 26th and ending on December 7th. Note, there is no class the week of Thanksgiving, 11/23.
Class fee includes: instruction, one bag of clay, open studio access for practice (7 days/week, 8am-10pm), and use of all tools, equipment, glaze, and firings. Anticipated projects include mugs, plates or shallow bowls, lidded forms, and nesting forms.
