INTERMEDIATE WHEEL | THURSDAYS, 6-8:30PM | 10/23-12/4 | W/ Jo Pfeifer
In this 6-week class, you will refine your wheel skills and expand your clay knowledge. This course is designed for those who have worked with clay either at Throw, or at another ceramics studio and are looking to build on foundational wheel skills.
You will learn how to throw bigger, more consistent, and more intentional pots. Through instruction and repetition, your ability to shape clay and create more complex forms will advance. Topics covered include: shaping, throwing on bats or off the hump, lidded forms, throwing multiples, trimming complex forms, handles, glazing techniques, and more!
At the end of the course, you will have advanced your throwing ability, improved your making speed and increased your confidence.
We’ll meet consecutive Thursday evenings for six weeks, starting October 23rd and ending on December 4th. Note, this class actually spans 7 weeks, but we do not meet the week of Thanksgiving.
Class fee includes: instruction, one (25lb) bag of clay, open studio access for practice (7 days/week, 9am-9:30pm), and use of all tools, equipment, glaze, and firings. Anticipated projects include: lidded forms, bowls, plates, mugs, and vases.
