Intermediate Ceramics | Tuesdays, 6-8:30PM | 9/8-10/13 | w/ Kelsey Ochs
In this 6-week class, you will refine your wheel or handbuilding skills and expand your clay knowledge. This course is designed for those who have worked with clay either at Throw, or at another ceramics studio and are looking to build on foundational ceramics skills.
You will learn how to make bigger, more consistent, and more intentional pots. Through instruction and repetition, your ability to shape clay and create more complex forms will advance. Topics covered include: shaping, throwing on bats or off the hump, lidded forms, throwing multiples, trimming complex forms, handles, glazing techniques, and more!
At the end of the course, you will have advanced your skills, improved your making speed and increased your confidence. We’ll meet consecutive Tuesday evenings for six weeks, starting Septemner 8th and ending October 13th.
Class fee includes: instruction, one (25lb) bag of clay, open studio access for practice (7 days/week, 9am-9:30pm), and use of all tools, equipment, glaze, and firings. Anticipated projects include: lidded forms, bowls, plates, mugs, and vases.
