we’re so excited to meet you!

Welcome to the Throw Ceramics community! We’re looking forward to getting our hands dirty together. For your first class, here are a few relevant details. Please feel free to email, call, or dm us if you have any additional or more specific questions.

Parking: Our dedicated parking area has 4 spaces on the alley side of the building, so please plan to arrive a bit early if you want to snag one. Alternately, please be prepared walk a bit (usually no more than 2 blocks!) if you need to find street parking which is ample on adjacent streets—River, Dakota, and California. We are located right on the Milwaukee Trail bike path, and we do have bike racks in the front and rear of the building and encourage you to use them!

What to wear: You will get dirty! The great news is that most clays and glazes do not stain your clothing, (though we recommend against wearing white). We have a limited selection of loaner clothes you can borrow if you forget, but please do plan to wear clothes that can get a little muddy (it will all wash off normally in your washing machine or the laundromat, though if you’re really messy it might take a couple of cycles).

Class size: The maximum class size is 8 students for the wheel, and 6 students for hand building. Expect a small, intimate group with plenty of time for one on one questions and instruction with our teachers!

Student agreement: Find it here! Note you will be asked to sign this document if you are new to the studio on your first day of class.

If this option sounds like a good fit, or you have additional questions, please feel free to email info@throwceramics.com - we are happy to discuss your needs and the offerings of the studio, schedule a tour, and/or determine if a membership might be a good option for you.
